About Us

Katrina's connection to the communities she serves began long before Lighthouse Child & Family Therapy. Growing up on a farm near Beloit, KS gave her a deep appreciation for rural life and shaped her commitment to making high-quality mental health care accessible to children and families close to home.

Katrina earned her bachelor's degree in social work from Bethel College in 2001 and later completed her master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy at Friends University in 2013. As her work with children and families grew, she pursued specialized training in play therapy through the Kansas City Play Institute, became a Registered Play Therapist in 2016, and is also trained to provide EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy.

Today, Katrina primarily works with children, adolescents and their families, using specialized approaches designed to meet children where they are and involving parents and caregivers as an important part of the process.

For Katrina, Lighthouse Child & Family Therapy is an opportunity to bring specialized care to the community she calls home- and to create a place where children and families can feel safe, supported and understood.
